Burges Salmon has announced the largest round of partner promotions in its history, with seven associates joining the ranks on 1 May.
The Bristol firm has promoted associates in seven different practice areas, with the 10 per cent increase in total partner count meaning the partnership grows to 77.
The new partners are: wealth structuring lawyer Jim Aveline; real estate lawyer Will Woodall; commercial lawyer Matt Ramus; planning lawyer Liz Dunn; pensions lawyer Michael Hayles; litigator Andrew Burnette; and family lawyer Sarah Woodsford.
The firm promoted four last year after not making up any new partners in 2010 (7 March 2010). It made up just one in 2009.
Managing partner Peter Morris commented: “In the continued challenging economic environment, it’s very satisfying to see the rewards of our investment in training and retaining quality lawyers.
“Four of these new partners completed their training contracts at Burges Salmon and have chosen to build their long-term career here.”
