The firm created the role of chief executive for Evans (pictured) in March 2007 (19 March 2007).
It came after BLG suffered a number of high profile departures, including financial services regulatory chief Chris Warren-Smith, who joined US firm Fulbright & Jaworski, and Singapore boss David Johnston, who joined aviation boutique Gates & Partners.
At the time then senior partner Richard Dedman said of Evans’ appointment: “There’s a growing pool of professional management talent out there to tap and I think law firms will increasingly look to make this sort of appointment in the modern legal marketplace.”
Dedman stood down in May 2008 after 30 years as a partner. He was two years into his second five-year term as senior partner and was succeeded by Simon Konsta (29 May 2008).
Jabbari joined the firm as an equity partner in October 2008 from Allen & Overy, where he was global head of knowledge management (20 October 2008).
