Ashurst has appointed Paris banking partner James Collis as its new managing partner, replacing Simon Bromwich in the role.
Collis will transfer to London after seven years in the Paris office, taking over in the senior role on 1 May.
It is the first time that Ashurst has given the role to a Paris-based partner, with previous managing partners all London based.
Bromwich announced that he was standing down six months early last month (1 February 2012).
Ashurst is also set to introduce the role of client and practice development partner, with senior infrastructure lawyer Logan Mair taking on the position on the same date.
The role is intended to help co-ordinate practices and clients across the firm, which went live with its merger with Australian firm Blake Dawson at the start of this month (26 September 2011).
