Keoghs makes triple partner hire

North West firm Keoghs has confirmed the appointment of three partners in Greater Manchester.

The firm has made another hire from Clyde & Co, adding partner Estelle Machell, who specialises in defending large loss and catastrophic personal injury claims. She joins with litigation partners Mike Pope and Anthony Mangham.

Pope makes a return to the firm after six years with Weightmans and Mangham spent 16 years as a litigator with Berrymans Lace Mawer.

The path between Clydes’ Manchester office and Keoghs is well trodden. In November last year Clydes fraud head Damian Ward took a team of 17 to Keoghs after quitting the firm in the summer (19 November 2012). This came after Keoghs hired Manchester head Dene Rowe in June 2012.

However, the moves have not been all one way. In March Keoghs litigation co-head Peter Unsworth quit the firm for Clydes. He joined Keoghs from Halliwells in 2008 alongside litigation partner David Wynn (25 March 2013).

Keogh’s technical claims director Gary Fitzpatrick said the firm was expanding “across all areas of business”.
