JMW secures £2.5m in banking facility transfer

Manchester-based firm JMW Solicitors has secured £2.5m to invest in future growth by moving its banking facility from Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to Barclays.

Turnover at JMW grew by 13 per cent last year, according to The Lawyer’s UK200 figures, from £13.2m in 2011/12 to £15m in 2012-13. The firm did not disclose a profit figure, but said that it had grown 25 per cent over the same period (28 May 2013).

The new banking facility will replace similar facilities the firm has with RBS and was finalised by Barclays Corporate Banking relationship director in Manchester Steve Lewis, who was formerly at RBS.

JMW managing partner Bill Jones said in a statement: “The appointment of Barclays as our new bankers is a culmination of the relationships that have developed between individuals at Barclays and JMW. Barclays share our massive enthusiasm for our business and are very supportive of our future plans.”

In May JMW acquired £1m turnover specialist property and litigation firm Goodman Harvey, set up in 2004 by an ex-Halliwells partner (30 May 2013).
