Brabners expands with double partner hire

North West firm Brabners has hired two partners from rival regional firms to take its total partner tally to 79.

Lachlan Nisbet joins from Hill Dickinson, which has recently seen a number of partner departures to firms including Gunnercooke (18 September 2013), HLW Keeble Hawson (15 August 2013) and Knights, which bolted on the firm’s Chester office (29 July 2013).

Meanwhile a redundancy programme saw the loss of 83 roles, including 14 partners (30 July 2013), and the firm asked partners for capital in a £2.8m cash call (7 August 2013).

Nisbet will be based primarily at Brabners’ Liverpool office. His background lies in public and regulatory law with a particular interest in firearms law.

Robert Turner joins from EOS Law with over 10 years of restructuring experience, especially contentious and non contentious insolvency. Turner will be based in Brabners’ Manchester office and also has experience in advising shareholders and company directors.

Brabners managing partner Mark Brandwood said the hires “build on our ongoing investments in our corporate recovery and regulatory capabilities”.
