Amir Patel awarded Addleshaw Goddard’s Sonia MacMahon Award

Amir Patel, a former pupil of Notre Dame Sixth Form College in Leeds, has been awarded the Sonia McMahon Memorial Award, which aims to help talented students who come from less privileged backgrounds pursue a legal career.

Patel impressed the judges with his obvious commitment to his education and to a future career in law. He will now receive a bursary of £2,000 to help him meet the cost of studying law at the University of Leeds, as well as access to a mentor and a work experience placement.

The award is made annually by Addleshaw Goddard to a student from one of the local schools that the firm partners with in the UK, to provide an ongoing legacy to support future generations of budding lawyers.
