Magnusson adds Ukraine to growing office list

Swedish firm Magnusson has launched its third office in a year, opening in Ukraine with the hire of a partner from Cypriot firm Andreas Neocleous & Co.

Anton Prysyazhnyuk, previously managing partner of Andreas Neocleous’s Kiev office, will lead a team of 10 lawyers from a variety of firms including Baker & McKenzie, Linklaters, Russia’s Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners and Austrian firm Schoenherr.

The team will cover a variety of legal services including corporate, banking and finance, tax, litigation and IP.

The Kiev office is the third new location for Magnusson this year. The firm opened in Berlin in February (5 February 2013) and filled its last Baltic gap with a merger in Lithuania a month later (4 March 2013).

Ukraine is the 10th country for the firm, and its 15th office overall.

Prysyazhnyuk said that “numerous companies” from the Baltic region were investing in Ukraine and vice-versa, providing growth potential for the firm.

Earlier this year German firm Noerr took the decision to split off its Kiev office. The team is now operating as an independent firm, Nobles (26 July 2013).
