Harman & Harman named partner Sarah Harman has closed her own firm after 30 years and joined Hodge Jones & Allan (HJA) in a bid to focus on her clinical negligence practice.
Harman – sister of Labour MP Harriet Harman – joined HJA as a partner in its clinical negligence team in London. Harman received recognition in 2007 after representing families of elderly patients who died from C Diff in Maidstone and Eastbourne hospitals. At present, she is advising families on claims involving injuries or death to mothers and babies at Queens Hospital in Romford.
Before joining HJA, Harman was senior partner at Kent headquartered Harman & Harman, which she established in 1982. At the firm, she worked with consultant Kate Miller, who now does family-law work freelance in Kent.
Harman said: “[I closed the firm] because I wanted to focus on my expanding clinical negligence practice and because I value the reputation and infrastructure at HJA. I particularly wanted to join forces with clinical negligence partner Julie Say in working on my high value maternity and birth injury cases.”
