Eversheds bolsters Leeds team with DLA Piper hire

Eversheds has boosted its Leeds office with the addition of DLA Piper’s Manchester banking and finance litigation head.

Tim Buckingham, who made partner at DLA Piper in 2001, joined Eversheds’ Leeds office as a partner in the financial services dispute resolution team this week. Buckingham acts for a range of institutional clients on mainstream banking and asset finance deals but also has niche expertise advising on payment processing issues.

Eversheds’ financial services dispute resolution (FSDR) head Paul Worth said in a statement: “[Buckingham’s] expertise in the relatively niche area of card and payment processing risk and fraud will complement the fast-growing FSDR team at Eversheds.”

In September Eversheds poached SJ Berwin competition partner Lesley Farrell (4 September 2012), while in April the firm hired a real estate partner from Berwin Leighton Paisner (20 April 2012).

Eversheds’ FSDR team comprises 20 partners in total and grew some 20 per cent in 2011-12.
