Anna Rawlings, a partner of Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, Minter Ellison’s associated firm in New Zealand, has been appointed to that country’s Commerce Commission.
Rawlings has been a partner in the firm’s dispute resolution division in Auckland since 2007 where she has specialised in contentious and non-contentious aspects of competition and consumer law and industry regulation.
The Commerce Commission is New Zealand’s primary competition regulatory agency. It is an independent crown entity that enforces legislation that promotes competition in New Zealand markets and prohibits misleading and deceptive trading. The commission also enforces legislation specific to the telecommunications, dairy, electricity, gas pipelines and airport sectors.
Rawlings will leave Minter Ellison Rudd Watts’ partnership and join the commission on 9 June 2014.
