He is one of the UK’s most infamous bosses: hard to please, fiendishly frank and not afraid of giving anyone who disappoints him the chop.
Now Lord Alan Sugar is hurling his famous catchphrase not at a group of potential business partners but at his former lawyers, Kingsley Napley.
The mogul’s real estate company Amsprop has filed a £1.3m professional negligence claim against the firm, claiming that it botched a property deal.
The lawyers won’t be wheeling their suitcases into the boardroom for this battle, but will be expected to turn up for a court date.
Herbert Smith Freehills has been hired to lead the case, with partner Alan Watts in the frame to pick up the instruction. The lawyer has a long relationship with Sugar. In 2009 he put The Apprentice candidates through the wringer when he appeared in the show as a guest interviewer.
RPC has picked up the instruction to defend Kingsley Napley. It will be hoping to fare better than former Apprentice winner Stella English did in her doomed battle against Sugar.
