Weightmans has promoted a trio of lawyers to the firm’s partnership, all based in the firm’s Liverpool head office.

The promotions were made across three separate practice areas. Sarah Conroy was made up within the commercial disputes resolution team, while Chris Grady and Liam McGuire are being made up within the firm’s real estate and motor teams respectively.

Conroy joined the firm in 2006 from Eversheds, having trained in that firm’s Manchester office. McGuire moved from Pinsent Masons in 2011 and Grady also joined Weightmans in 2011.

In a statement managing partner John Schorah said that it was important for the firm to “continue to grow and invest in the diverse mix of skills within Weightmans’ teams”.

The firm also boosted grew its equity partnership through the promotion of London healthcare partner Rachel Kneale and Liverpool-based local government partner Pete Wake. All of the firm’s promotions will take effect on 1 May.

Last year Weightmans made up four lawyers to its partnership in an all female round. The round also saw HR director Saw Airey become the firm’s second non-lawyer partner after marketing director Sarah-Jane Howitt joined the partnership in 2014. The promotions were possible after Weightmans obtained an alternative business structure licence three years ago.
