Burges Salmon has appointed four new partners in Bristol, three of which are women, across key growth areas including real estate, environment, pensions and banking.

Real estate lawyer Sally Jupp and pensions lawyers Susannah Young and Alice Honeywill make up the three new female partners, alongside environmental lawyer Simon Tilling, who joins the projects team. All four joined the firm as trainees.

The promotions follow last year’s male-heavy promotion round, which saw the firm promote six men to its partnership.

The firm also hired Travers Smith financial services partner Andrew Eaton to join its banking and finance practice this month. Eaton was promoted to partnership at his previous firm in 2012.

The five promotions, effective from 1 May 2016, take Burges Salmon to a total of 85 partners.
