Stephenson Harwood re-appoints White as CEO

Stephenson Harwood’s non-executive supervisory council has re-appointed Sharon White as chief executive officer (CEO) for a second three-year term.

The new term starts at the end of her current tenure on 30 September 2014.

White has been at Stephenson Harwood since 1988 and became a partner in 1997. She has been CEO since 2009.

On Tuesday (4 March) Stephenson Harwood confirmed that it had axed 15 per cent of its secretarial jobs (4 March 2014), as a result of a redundancy consultation which kicked off last month (5 February 2014).

International expansion has been a prevailing theme at the firm this year, kicking of an Africa secondment programme in early February, which aims to add to the firm’s Africa expertise by sending associates on secondment to independent firms on the continent (6 February 2014).

Meanwhile, the firm raided DLA Piper for its Seoul office head Michael Kim with the aim of launching a base in the jurisdiction (7 February 2014).
