Addleshaw Goddard has announced the appointment of rail and transport expert Paul Hirst from DLA Piper as the new head of transport.
Leeds-based partner Hirst joins Addleshaw Goddard from DLA Piper, where he was head of the rail and public transport practice.
Hirst is a well-known and respected practitioner in the transport field, specialising in transport infrastructure projects and operating concessions and franchises and rolling-stock procurements, including initiatives promoted by both the public and private sector.
His client roster that has been developed over 16 years of advising in the transport sector includes Hitachi Rail, Alstom Transport, the Department for Transport (DfT), Keolis, Hutchison Ports, Amey Rail and Merseytravel.
According to the firm, the significant investment highlights its continued development of a leading international transport practice and forms a key part of the firm’s strategy to strengthen its core infrastructure, projects and energy (IPE) practice.
