The claimants in this case were Greek yogurt manufacturer FAGE and its UK distributor. FAGE had been making Greek yogurt in Greece and selling it in the UK for 30 years.

In September 2012, the defendant, US company Chobani, entered the UK market with its yogurt product, using the term ‘Greek Yogurt’, which was actually made in the US (as explained in small writing on the back of the product). FAGE sued Chobani for extended passing off…
