Gillian Duffy has joined Schillings as a senior associate, making her the latest addition to join the firm’s expanding reputation defence practice.
Previously a litigation associate at Appleby based in the Isle of Man, Duffy brings a wealth of experience to Schillings, having worked on a number of complex company disputes, cross-border mutual legal assistance actions, offshore regulatory gaming issues and insolvency matters. In her new role, she will bring her front-line litigation skills to bear as a reputation defence lawyer, specialising in defamation, privacy and data protection.
Duffy commented: ‘I’m delighted to be joining Schillings at a time when we’re redefining what it means to be a law firm. Schillings provides a great opportunity for me to bring my litigation experience to fruition in helping clients defend their reputations — whatever the threat.’
Rachel Atkins, partner at Schillings, added: ‘Gillian is a valuable new asset to the team whose commercial litigation experience will form a key part of our multidisciplinary offer.’
Duffy’s appointment follows that of Jennie Sumpster, a data protection specialist, who joined Schillings as a senior associate from Addleshaw Goddard in January this year.
