Clifford Chance Bucharest partner Perry Zizzi has rejoined Dentons, almost seven years after quitting legacy Salans for the magic circle firm.
Zizzi will lead Dentons’ Romanian banking and finance team and will also be part of the firm’s real estate team. He advises on a broad range of finance and real estate finance issues.
Dentons has been growing in Romania recently, hiring a competition team from local firm Voicu & Filipescu in April.
Bucharest managing partner Anda Todor said Zizzi’s hire was another step in Dentons’ Romanian growth strategy.
Zizzi appeared on the opposite side of a deal involving legacy Salans in 2012, when he acted for Unicredit Bank Austria on the financing of Blackstone’s acquisition of a €200m (£160.8m) real estate portfolio from Redveco. Salans was acting for Blackstone, with global real estate co-head Eric Rosedale and Bucharest and Prague-based partner Chris Berlew advising alongside the firm’s Turkish relationship firm BASEAK (17 September 2012).
Dentons has recently rejigged the leadership of its global real estate team. Rosedale quit for Greenberg Traurig (17 June 2014), a move which was followed by the appointment of Warsaw partner Pawel Debowski as European real estate head (18 June 2014).
