Michael Uberoi’s practice encompasses regulatory law, public inquiries and employment law.
Chambers & Partners (2013) states that: ‘Michael Uberoi is making a name for himself due to his representation of medical practitioners before the GMC and GDC, and as a result of his work in inquiries’ (Chambers & Partners 2013: Recommended Junior; Professional Discipline).
Public Inquiries: Uberoi has acted in several major public inquiries. He is currently instructed in the public inquiry into hyponatraemia-related deaths (involving paediatric deaths at the Royal Belfast Hospital), and recently advised in relation to the Pollard Inquiry (the inquiry into the BBC’s handling of its Newsnight investigation into Jimmy Savile). He acted as one of junior counsel to the Rosemary Nelson Inquiry, which investigated allegations of government collusion in the murder of a Northern Irish solicitor. Uberoi is a contributing author to the book Public Inquiries, published by Oxford University Press.
