FT promotes internally to replace GC Bratton

The Financial Times (FT) group is understood to have promoted senior legal counsel Dan Guildford to the role of general counsel, following the recent departure of longstanding legal head Tim Bratton.

Bratton announced his departure from the publishing company a month ago (27 June 2013), before it was confirmed that he was joining Berwin Leighton Paisner-backed alternative legal services provider Lawyers on Demand (LoD) as practice development director (9 July 2013).

Guildford has worked for the FT for almost four years. According to the LoD website, he originally joined the team from the provider.

He previously worked in-house at Vue Cinemas and in private practice at Dewey & LeBoeuf and Pinsent Masons.

The FT did not respond to requests for comment.
