Norton Rose Fulbright secures McLaren global mandate

It is the official sponsor of the Hong Kong Sevens, a sponsor of the premiership rugby team, Harlequins, and now Norton Rose Fulbright has marched into Formula One after securing a global deal to advise McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 team.

Sources reckon the global adviser mandate, for which it will be paid, comes with a sponsorship package – although McLaren and NRF won’t confirm this.

In the meantime, Baker & McKenzie is the firm that has lost out as it’s advised McLaren since the 1980s.

Or perhaps it is a case of what goes around, comes around. Back in 2010 Bakers nabbed longstanding legacy Norton Rose client Carlsberg.

With economic growth on the agenda, the battle for institutional clients is heating up.
