Gilbert + Tobin has appointed Justin Little as a partner in its energy and resources practice in Perth. Prior to joining G + T, he was a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills, where he led the mining team in the Perth office.
King & Wood Mallesons has added a partner to its Perth office. Shaun McRobert joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was a partner in charge of the firm’s mining, infrastructure and commodities group.
Thomsons Lawyers has hired IP lawyer Josh Simons as a partner in its Adelaide office. Simons returns to the firm after eight years with Minter Ellison’s Adelaide office as a partner. He joins Thomsons with senior associate Bronwyn Furse and trademark attorney Sharon Bandick, who both previously worked with him at Minter Ellison.
Clyde & Co has hired Eversheds’ employment partner Iris Duchetsmann in Shanghai. Duchetsmann joined Eversheds in January 2013 from legacy Salans Shanghai office, where she was counsel. She advises on labour law, particularly on aspects that involve cross-border employment and international HR management.
Han Kun Law Offices has appointed senior dispute resolution lawyer Wu Jiang as of counsel in Shanghai. Wu joins from Shanghai-based AllBright. Prior to private practice, he was a public prosecutor for nine years, mostly handling business criminal cases. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and arbitration.
Addleshaw Goddard has added a third partner in its newly opened Hong Kong office. Capital market partner Daniel Wan joins from Chinese firm Jun He’s Hong Kong office. Prior to joining Jun He in October 2011, he was a senior associate at Ashurst’ Hong Kong office. He also previously practised at the Hong Kong office of legacy Herbert Smith and Bird & Bird. Wan brings with him two associates, Simon Wong and Yen Yum, who are also joining from Jun He.
Winston & Strawn has hired Marco Pocci as a partner in its energy practice based in Hong Kong. Pocci was formerly a partner of Orrick’s Rome office. He advises on cross-border M&A and corporate restructuring transactions.
Zhong Lun has added US tax capability in its Hong Kong office with the hire of Peter Chen as a registered foreign lawyer. Chen is qualified as a lawyer and certified public accountant in the US with more than 20 years of experience. He previously headed the china desk of Deloitte in New York before returning to Hong Kong.
Baker & McKenzie has appointed Michael Nixon as transfer pricing consultant in its Singapore member firm Baker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow. Nixon joins from Ernst & Young, where he was a senior manager of the firm’s the Asia Pacific tax centre. Nixon is an economist and a qualified tax professional.
DLA Piper has hired Tim Tan as a partner in the corporate group of its Bangkok office. Tan joins from O’Melveney & Myers’ Singapore office, where he was counsel in the corporate finance practice. His practice focuses on banking and leverage finance, corporate debt and restructuring.
