French firm Bredin Prat has made its first lateral hire for 18 months, picking up Gide Loyrette Nouel restructuring partner Olivier Puech.
Puech will start work at Bredin Prat tomorrow (11 January) after over 14 years as a partner at Gide, where he headed the firm’s corporate restructuring team.
The last lateral for Bredin Prat was former supreme court judge Yann Aguila (9 June 2011), who joined to head up the firm’s public law practice.
Puech acts on corporate restructurings and administrations, representing companies, creditors and investors. He also acts on insolvency-related litigation and has been involved in matters such as the liquidation of Metaleurop and the insolvency proceedings surrounding the landmark Cœur Défense property in Paris.
In a statement Puech said he was “enthusiastic” about joining Bredin Prat, having worked alongside the firm on many files.
Several partners have left Gide’s Paris office in the last two years, including most recently structured products specialist Alban Caillemer du Ferrage, who took a team to Jones Day in October (8 October 2012).
