Dentons’ global turnover for 2015 has increased by 66.2 per cent to $2.12bn (£1.523bn), The Lawyer can reveal.

In The Lawyer’s Litigation Top 50 report in 2015, Dentons’ 2014 revenue was listed as $1.275bn (£916m), meaning that the firm has added almost $1bn in just a year.

This marks a threefold increase from pre-merger SNR Dentons, which posted a total of $710.5m in 2012.

The firm moves into a small group of UK and US firms with revenue of over $2bn, led by Latham & Watkins which posted revenue of $2.61bn in 2014.

Dentons declined to comment on the figures, which are understood to have been revealed at the firm’s annual partnership conference.

Dentons’ UK, Middle East and Africa turnover increased by 6.4 per cent from £147.6m to £157m in 2014/15 and net profit in the region increased from £36.9m to £41.6m, according to recently-released LLP accounts. Meanwhile Dentons Europe posted revenue of €215m (£170m) in 2014; more recent figures are not yet available.

Last year saw Dentons merge with Chinese firm Dacheng and with US firm McKenna Long & Aldridge. Dacheng produced revenue of around $400m in 2014.

The firm also signed merger agreements with Luxembourg firm OPF Partners, which took effect on 1 January 2016, Australia’s Gadens and Singapore’s Rodyk & Davidson, and with Colombia’s Cárdenas & Cárdenas and Mexico’s López Velarde Heftye y Soria.

Dentons was also the biggest lateral recruiter of any firm operating in Continental Europe in 2015, exclusive analysis by The Lawyer has shown.

The firm picked up 15 partners during the course of the year across Europe as it opened in Milan and bulked up in Budapest.
