Richard Follis has been helping victims of medical accidents for more than 30 years, having specialised for the last 23 of those. He only acts for patients or their families.
He has won claims for compensation ranging from minor injury to severe brain damage.
He continues to undertake a broad range of cases — out of choice — believing that all victims of medical accidents deserve access to experienced advice.
Follis has advised familiers about inquests for more than 30 years and regularly appears as advocate before coroners. He is national head of the Shoosmiths Clinical Negligence team.
He has also conducted multi-party, pharmaceutical and catastrophic injury litigation and has appeared pro bono to represent complainants before the GMC.
He is a past president of the Birmingham Law Society and has been an AvMA panel member since 1991.
Follis is noted as a leader in his field by Chambers & Partners in its UK directory and is profiled in Legal 500.
