Malcolm Pike is the divisional managing partner of Addleshaw Goddard’s Commercial Services Division (which includes the Employment Group). He is a nationally and internationally recognised expert in employment law, regarded as a leading expert in the Legal 500 and Chambers guides to the legal profession, and highly recommended in PLC’s Global Counsel Handbook.
Pike is a member of the ACAS panel of Independent Arbitrators and has 25 years’ experience in the field of employment and industrial relations law, which he uses to help clients avoid and resolve disputes effectively and minimise any damage to their reputation. He is also heavily involved in the sports industry, chairing the Rugby Football League’s Contract Disputes Panel.
His particular focus is on executive terminations/boardroom disputes, business reorganisations/transfer of undertakings and industrial relations/trade union issues. As lead partner for a number of the firm’s key employment clients, including British Airways, The Co-operative Group, Manchester Metropolitan University and Associated British Foods, Pike provides key and strategic employment advice in these high-impact areas, as well as managing dedicated teams from within the department dealing with more routine and contentious and non-contentious matters.
A regular speaker at client seminars and on training courses, he is the advisory editor of, and contributor to, the Employment title in Butterworth’s Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents. He is also the legal editor of Essential Facts Employment and The Lawyer’s Factbook and is a contributor to Jordans Employment Law.
