Jones Day litigation partner Laurent Martinet and his running-mate Pierre Olivier Sur of Fischer Tandeau de Marsac Sur & Associés have triumphed in the Paris bar council elections this week.
Sur and Martinet won the second-round run-off vote for the positions of bar council chair and vice-chair elect over Frédéric Sicard and Sabine du Granrut, polling 5,669 votes over their rivals’ 4,927.
Representatives of other corporate firms in Paris also had successful elections. Taylor Wessing partner and former bar council chair Paul-Albert Iweins was elected for the bar council in second place with 4,854 votes.
Linklaters associate Delphine Pujos was third with 4,498 votes. Other corporate lawyers to be elected to the council include Field Fisher Waterhouse partner Louis-Bernard Buchman and Gide Loyrette Nouel partner Aurélien Boulanger.
Winston & Strawn partner Gilles Bigot missed out.
Of the 14 lawyers elected to the council, four were female.
