Difficult to call steady growth in UK construction market, says Eversheds

Eversheds construction expert Michael Conroy has commented on the latest projections for future UK construction industry growth.

Conroy said that it is encouraging to see that confidence remains intact after other recent figures suggested the outlook was ‘perhaps a bit more muted’.

He said: ‘It remains the case that infrastructure still requires a catalyst such as pension funds investing in the construction phases of projects and there may yet be some areas where changed methods of working, such as telecommuting and offshoring, continue to change the dynamic of corporate real-estate requirements.’

Ultimately, he said, it is ‘increasingly difficult to call that we will see steady growth due to the huge number of variables impacting the modern construction market’.
