Government calls for evidence on further reforms to whistleblowing legislation - .PDF file.

On 25 June 2013, the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013 introduced a number of key changes to the existing whistleblowing legislation. The government has now published a call for evidence seeking views and evidence on whether there is a case for any further changes to the whistleblowing framework.

The existing whistleblowing legislation was first introduced in 1998 and has not been reviewed since. In the call for evidence, the government has stated that it is seeking to establish a strong evidence base to help it better understand the operation of the whistleblowing framework and to allow consideration of whether further changes are needed. The intention is to look for specific areas within the existing framework that may need amending following changes in the labour market since 1998…
