Nordic firm Magnusson has hired the general counsel of Sweden’s biggest publishing house Bonnierförlagen to head up its IP and media practice in Stockholm.
Dag Wetterberg will start work at Magnusson on 2 September after eight years at Bonnierförlagen.
The hire is the second this year for Magnusson in Sweden. Mannheimer Swartling partner Mårten Tagaeus joined the firm’s Gothenburg office in May.
Wetterberg described the opportunity to build up the firm’s IP and media practice as “simply irresistible”.
He aded: “My goal is to develop the IP and media practice based not only on a top-end legal capability, but also on a deep understanding of our clients’ business and challenges they face. As an in-house counsel I’ve learned how important it is to know by heart the client’s business in order to provide sensible legal advice.”
A spokesperson for Bonnierförlagen said it was not replacing Wetterberg, but would continue to work with him at Magnusson.
