A&O unveils reduced partnership promotions round

Allen & Overy (A&O) has unveiled its smallest partnership promotions round since 2010, with 19 being taken into the fold.

The firm’s banking practice has seen the biggest intake, with seven made up across A&O’s global network. The practice has been boosted by new partners in, among other jurisdictions, Singapore, Belgium, Frankfurt, London and Singapore.

By contrast the firm’s litigation employment practice were joined by just one partner apiece, with Markulf Behrendt promoted in the Hamburg employment group and David Por made up in the Paris disputes group. That said, the firm also added to arbitration group with two promotions.

London saw the largest number of new partners with six promoted, while Hong Kong added three to the partnership.
