Norton Rose has won a key role on the €1.48bn (£1bn) takeover bid by Ryanair for Aer Lingus. Corporate finance partner Mark Bankes is leading the firm’s team for Aer Lingus, whose board rejected the bid last week (5 October). After advising Aer Lingus on its recent admission to the Irish and London stock exchanges, Bankes, along with corporate finance partner Jill Gauntlett, has won a position on what looks set to be one of the most high-profile takeover battles of the year. Arthur Cox is also advising Aer Lingus. A&L Goodbody is advising Ryanair.
