Global network of independent law firms Lex Mundi has elected its new chair. Peter Whelan, a partner at South African firm Bowman Gilfillan, won the election held during the network’s annual meeting in Chicago last month. Whelan practices corporate and commercial litigation and has spent 25 years at Bowman Gilfillan. Lex Mundi has more than 160 member firms throughout Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe, representing approximately 17,000 lawyers.
