has recruited LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae partner Michael Knoerzer in New York to spearhead the firm’s assault on the US insurance and reinsurance market.
Clydes’ two US offices, in New York and Los Angeles have so far concentrated on aviation and aerospace as a result of the firm taking on partners from New York firm Condon & Forsyth. The arrival of Knoerzer kicks off the next strategic phase of building a US insurance practice.
Clydes chairman Michael Payton said: “Clients have tasked us with the goal of establishing a substantial US presence so that we may seamlessly serve their needs worldwide.
“With the addition of Michael Knoerzer, we’re taking the first step in what we intend will be the establishment of a major US insurance and reinsurance presence.”
Knoerzer said that he looked forward “to making further announcements about additional hires as we continue to grow this practice in the US”.
LeBoeuf last week (1 October) became Dewey & LeBoeuf. Clydes opened its New York and Los Angeles divisions in July 2006.
