Addleshaw Goddard has acted for Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co on its acquisition of Metalweb, having received the instruction on the recommendation of Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
Corporate finance partner Charles Penney led the team acting for the company, which is headquartered in Los Angeles and is one of the largest metals service centre companies in the US.
Penney was assisted by a number of partners and associates from across the firm’s tax, real estate, pensions and employment practices.
Metalweb, advised by Duane Morris partner Mark Hartley, specialises in the processing and distribution of aluminium products for non-structural aerospace components used in high-end industrial applications.
The deal represents Reliance’s first in the UK.
