Nottingham-based firm Freethcartwright has strengthened its corporate team with the recruitment of a partner in its Derby office.

Murray Macnab joined the firm on 17 September from Derby firm Robinsons. His focus is on corporate deals and strategic contracts, particularly in the telecoms and IT sectors.
Macnab said that he has carved a niche for himself in the sector. “Banding and technical innovation are examples of intangible value that is becoming increasingly important to companies and investors. I think it's vital that technology-led businesses work with professionals who can translate these ideas to attract value.”
Freethcartwright has eight corporate finance partners, but only two work exclusively in the Derby office.
Head of corporate finance Mike Copestake said: “We have a broad portfolio of commercial clients, many of which are involved in technology and will benefit from Macnab's expertise.”
Macnab said he made the move after looking at the market. “I've been thinking ahead about the sort of deals that I want to do and have been looking at the way the market is going. I'm looking to do more on the M&A side, and where I have been doing disposal work, I want to do more on the acquisition side.”
Robinsons is left with one partner in its corporate department.
