Firm serves former clerk with fraud writ

LONDON law firm Wedlake Saint is suing its former managing clerk Andrew Fuller for damages for alleged “fraudulent acts”.

The firm claims that clients' money was misappropriated.

The firm is seeking damages in a writ issued at London's High Court against Fuller, of Tunbridge Wells.

Wedlake Saint is also seeking a High Court declaration that Fuller is liable to indemnify the firm against any future claims which may be brought against it as a result of misappropriation of money from client and client trust accounts.

The writ, issued by London-based practice Wansbroughs Willey Hargrave, says the firm is seeking an account of money had and received by Fuller, plus interest.

It says the claim arises from alleged breach of contract, duty and fraudulent acts by Fuller while he worked for them as managing clerk between May 1989 and July this year.

No date has yet been fixed for hearing of the action.

Wedlake Saint was not available for comment. Fuller could not be contacted.
