Shearman & Sterling's former head of European acquisition finance has resurfaced, acting on a new debt fund venture for private equity player CapVest.
Stephen Mostyn-Williams, who left the US firm at the end of last year (The Lawyer, 4 December) will be working alongside two former investment bankers as a managing director on a euro1bn (£632m) fund, entitled AIG Mezzvest, which will be invested in the European mezzanine debt market.
Lemy Gresh, former managing director and head of structured securitisations at Deutsche Bank, which merged with Bankers Trust in June 1999, left the financial house in February last year. He is being joined by Bankers Trust colleague and leveraged finance specialist Doug Evans.
Mostyn-Williams will advise on structuring the mezzanine loans financed from the fund. His relationship with Bankers Trust, now Deutsche Bank, stretches back to when Mostyn-Williams practised at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert.
