BAE knowledge head quits for tech company

BAE Systems is set to lose its head of knowledge ­management, with Jo Humphrey expected to join technology company Johnson Controls as chief- counsel for Europe.


BAE Systems is set to lose its head of knowledge ­management, ;with ;Jo Humphrey expected to join technology company Johnson ;Controls ;as ;chief ­counsel for Europe.

Humphrey ;was ;the ­architect of the in-house team’s Lawyers Virtual Information Service, which connected BAE’s global team of 120 lawyers.

Roger Wiltshire, BAE chief counsel for the UK, said the company would probably promote from within once Humphrey leaves the company in ­February 2009.

BAE has boosted the size of its in-house team in recent weeks as part of general counsel Philip Bramwell’s drive to have a world-class legal function by 2009.

Joining the employment team are Victoria Halliday, an associate from Lewis Silkin, ;and ;Eversheds ­associate Amy Boast, while O2 ­corporate lawyer Matt ­Mullan has joined BAE’s London M&A team.
