Norton Rose is advising client Siemens on its £41.5m offer for medical equipment supplier Broadcastle. The acquisition will allow Siemens Financial Services to expand its operations in medical equipment financing and consolidate its position as a leading provider of financial solutions in the UK. As part of the transaction, Broadcastle has conditionally agreed to purchase the minority interests in three of its existing subsidiaries. Norton Rose corporate finance partner Nick Adams and tax partner Dominic Stuttaford are leading the team advising Siemens, with support from a team of finance, tax and employment associates. Dechert corporate partner Geoffrey Walters is advising Broadcastle.

Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom in London has secured a role advising Danaher Corporation on its $1bn (£560m) cash offer for the outstanding shares of Swiss-listed Leica Geosystems Holdings. Danaher’s ‘white knight’ offer follows a hostile offer from Swedish company Hexagon in June. It marks Danaher’s largest acquisition to date. Partner Scott Simpson led the Skadden team with Swiss firm Lenz & Staehelin advising on local law. Leica was represented by Bär & Karrer.

Linklaters has strengthened its relationship with HSH Nordbank after advising it on a new €15bn (£10.33bn) debt issuance programme. The programme is Prospectus Directive-compliant and permits HSH to issue a variety of securities, including MTNs, equity-linked notes and index-linked notes. The bank can also issue securities under both German and UK law. Linklaters also advised HSH on its recent $15bn (£8.46bn) US MTN programme. Partners Berthold Kusserow in Frankfurt and Jasper Evans in London led the deal.
