BPP launches BVC in Leeds

BPP Law School is launching the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) in its new Leeds law school from September 2006, it announced today (Monday 8 August).

The BPP Leeds BVC will be the first in Yorkshire, and the third bar course in the North of England. Courses are also run by Manchester Metropolitan University and the Newcastle School of Law.

BPP opened its Leeds Law School last September and is following that launch up with a new school in Manchester, which opens this year.

The new course will have to be validated by the Bar Council. If successful, bar students will be able to study on both a full and part-time basis.

Peter Crisp, dean of BPP Law School, said that the school had been encouraged by support from the bar in Leeds and Sheffield.
