• Immigration and litigation outfit Gherson has hired Nichola Carter as a partner from human rights boutique H2O.
She will lead the firm’s general immigration practice, covering work permits, the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) and a range of UK visas. The move takes the number of partners at the London-based firm to four. Founder Roger Gherson said: “We’ve been looking for some time to identify an energetic young partner who can lead our general immigration practice.
Nichola fits that bill and her appointment will enable us to fulfil our wish to become the UK’s leading immigration law firm.” Carter added: “With the introduction of the points-based system, my move to Gherson coincides with the most far-reaching changes ever to be announced in UK immigration.”
