Former InBev European general counsel Deepak Malhotra has resurfaced as general counsel of the European arm of US drink brands owner Constellation.
Malhotra replaces former Constellation Europe general counsel Anne Colquhoun, who is retiring. He left InBev in January, partly because of the strain of commuting from the UK to Belgium, and will now be based at Constellation’s Guildford offices.
“I’m very committed to the role of the legal function and the strategic development of the function in areas like learning and training,” he said. “Over a period of time I’ll be thinking about developing these areas at Constellation as well.”
Constellation Europe owns major wine brands such as Hardys, Kumala and Banrock Station.
Since Malhotra’s departure InBev has split the EU role and hired Benoit Loore from the Belgian Banking Commission to fill a new corporate legal position.
