Willkie Farr & Gallagher has bolstered its French tax team with the hire of a partner from local independent Brandford Griffith.

Pierre Ullmann joined the US firm last month (October), becoming its 15th Paris-based partner. He brought with him one associate.

Ullmann previously led the tax practice at Brandford Griffith, where he built up a practice advising French and international clients on a variety of tax issues, particularly concerned with real estate investment.

He said he was attracted to Willkie Farr because it already had a seven-strong tax team in Paris.

“Willkie Farr is an efficient and successful firm in Paris,” Ullmann said. “With my move we will have a good team specialising in domestic and international taxation.”
