Taylor Wessing has hired the senior counsel of Merrill Lynch’s European Global Private Client business.
Clive Cunningham joined Taylor Wessing as a partner in its corporate team this week (beginning 6 November).
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 2002, Cunningham worked as a banking supervisor at the Bank of England, as an associate at Linklaters, and at accountancy giant KLegal.
Cunningham specialises in the financial services, banking and funds sectors, particularly in investment management and private banking.
His is the third significant hire for Taylor Wessing in four months. In September, former Shearman & Sterling securitisation specialist Marke Raines resurfaced at the London office of Taylor Wessing.
Raines left Shearman in March 2005, and said he had had “a career break” of just over a year before deciding to return to the law.
In August, former Barlow Lyde & Gilbert partner Graham Wedlake left US firm Winston & Strawn after less than a year to join Taylor Wessing as its head of securitisation.
