Mishcon de Reya last week launched a new media and public advocacy group for clients wanting to protect their reputations.

The eight-strong team will help clients manage their media profiles and defend them in court. It will target corporate clients and individuals, with involvement in lobbying to secure corporate and institutional reputations.

The group includes partners James Libson, Ramona Mehta and Karen Sanig and consultant Anthony Julius. Julius has recently been advising the University of Haifa and academics regarding a proposed boycott of Israeli academic institutions, which was dropped last week.

Libson said: “We represent people in courts, but now… we’re representing people in other forums. Much of our work is public advocacy.”
