The Legal Services Commission has appointed Clare Dodgson, the current chief operating officer at Jobcentre Plus, part of the Department for Work and Pensions, as its chief executive

Dodgson will focus on creating and delivering policies and strategies that will give effective control over a fund budget of £1.7bn. She will also be responsible for ensuring that administration expenditure (£70m-£75m) is properly controlled and used to improve value for money through the commission's 1,500 permanent staff.
Dodgson said: “I'm very pleased to be joining the Legal Services Commission at this time of continuing change. The reforms that have been put in place must deliver results and make a real difference on the ground.”
Dodgson has previously worked in the National Health Service where she held senior posts with the Newcastle Family Health Services Authority and Sunderland Health Authority.
