Two out of four exiting partners have departed Withers for Forsters despite the former threatening legal action.

Catherine Hill follows Penny Elliot, who joined Forsters last August. The pair will be joined by former colleagues Andrew Lane and Craigie Pearson in June.

Hill, Elliot and Lane will join the firm’s landed estate practice, with Hill focusing on advising UK land-owning families on succession and tax planning.

Forsters initially recruited two Withers partners – Charles Pike and senior US-based partner Patrick Harney – in November 2007.

The Lawyer revealed the second raid in March, with Withers threatening legal action. Talks ensued to pave the way for the moves.
