Sales assistant at a Conran Shop.

Around #18,000.

What would you have done if you hadn't been a lawyer?

Cricket commentator.

What was your most satisfying professional moment?

Qualifying as a solicitor advocate earlier this year.

What was your most embarrassing professional moment?

Opening the batting for the firm in a client cricket match and batting so slowly that the other side didn't want me to get out.

What do you least like about being a lawyer?

The amount of administration work involved.

And the best thing about being a lawyer?

The variety of work.

Who do you admire most, and why?

Viv Richards, for his skill and steely determination, and desire to win.

Which famous person or historical figure would be your ideal client, and why?

Muhammad Ali, because he was prepared to sacrifice his career for a principle.

What is your all-time favourite record?

Notorious BIG – Juicy.

What is your all-time favourite book?

The Autobiography of Malcolm X.

What food or drink can't you live without?

Pizza and Absolut Kurant with tonic, among others.

What's your favourite restaurant?

Bukhara at the Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi.

Met Bar.

How do you relax?

A nice long soak in the bath.

What is your most precious possession?

My girlfriend (she is of course an asset not a possession).

Where would you most like to be right now?

At home with her.

In ten years' time, where do you see yourself?

Still living and working in London and, hopefully, enjoying it – at least for the most part.
